The Giant Pandas spend 55% of their day on eating, both daytime and night-time (Lü, Z, Wang, D. & Garshelis, D.L. (IUCN SSC Bear Specialist Group)). Their food comprises 99% of bamboo, and 1% of meat and vegetables (Edinburgh zoo). The giant pandas eat over 60 bamboo species including 35 species are their main food source (Lü, Z, Wang, D. & Garshelis, D.L. (IUCN SSC Bear Specialist Group)). These species are varying use with different seasons (Lü, Z, Wang, D. & Garshelis, D.L. (IUCN SSC Bear Specialist Group)). The digestive system of giant pandas is very special. It doe not store fat and their body do not hibernate so they are certainly in search of food (Pandas International).
